HENKY J.D.

Henky J. D. Is a wood-loving toy designer, whose practice transforms everyday timber into whimsical, character‑filled art toys. Based in Indonesia, Henky blends craft, storytelling, and design to breathe life into his signature wooden figures — often drawing from natural textures, playful forms, and a warm, hands‑on aesthetic.

One of his standout projects is the Toppi series, a line of wooden art toys that showcase Henky’s subtle mastery of form, proportion, and material. He handcarves, sands, and paints each piece, turning simple blocks of wood into charming characters with their own personalities and visual language. He often shares glimpses of his creative process — from raw wood carvings to finished figures — giving collectors insight into the labor, care, and inspiration behind each piece.

Henky’s art toys aren’t just objects — they feel like companions. Each figure tells a quiet story, built from the grain of the wood, the curves of the carve, and the soft palette he chooses. Whether you’ve collected one or hope to someday, they carry warmth, soul, and playful energy.
