In October 2023, the worlds of botanical artistry and pop culture converged in a unique collaboration between Japanese flower artist Azuma Makoto and designer toy company Mighty Jaxx, resulting in the Azuma Makoto x Sanrio Hello Kitty Series. This collection reimagines Hello Kitty as a devoted gardener, tending to her floral paradise.

Each figure in the series portrays Hello Kitty engaged in various gardening activities - loosening soil, watering buds, and nurturing her plants. A distinctive feature is the transparent dome-shaped head of each figure, revealing intricate floral arrangements inside, such as hydrangeas, tulips, and daisies. This design symbolizes a “flourishing garden within her mind,” merging Makoto’s botanical expertise with Hello Kitty’s endearing persona.

Azuma Makoto, renowned for his avant-garde floral installations, brings his signature style to this collaboration. As the owner of the haute-couture floral shop “JARDINS des FLEURS” in Tokyo, Makoto has been actively working as a flower artist since 2005, exploring the expressive potential of flowers.

The figures are available as blind boxes, each standing approximately 3.3 inches tall. Collectors can purchase single boxes or a tray of six, with the assurance of no duplicates in a full tray, though the ultra-rare figure is not guaranteed.
