World Theatre Day
Theatre has been a popular form of art and entertainment since Ancient Greece, captivating and awe-inspiring audiences. Every year since 1961, on March 27, the world celebrates World Theatre Day. This day, established by the International Theatre Institute (ITI), honors the essence, beauty, and significance of theatre arts, as well as its important role in entertainment and symbolic impact on life. The first International Message for this day was written by Jean Cocteau (France) in 1962. And the tradition of such messages continues today. All theatre fans, schools, and practitioners work hard to make the day special. People hold award ceremonies, charity performances, and theatre workshops to celebrate the theatre. As the name implies, the goal of the day is to raise public awareness of this particular art form.
