Para-Cross-country skiing Gold Edition
Cross-country skiing is one of the most popular Paralympic winter sports and one of the oldest types of snow travel. At the 1976 Winter Paralympic Games in rnsköldsvik, Sweden, cross-country skiing made its debut. This competition features standing events, sitting events (for wheelchair users), and events for visually impaired competitors. Athletes use sit-skis, which are made out of a seat mounted on a frame, and two Cross-Country skis with bindings connected. Paralympic-standard sit-skis are made of ultra-lightweight materials and are custom-made for each competitor.
