About toy
This figure draws inspiration from Lewis Carroll's beloved ‘Hatter’ featured in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Often referred to as the ‘Mad Hatter’ although not by Carroll himself. The phrase ‘mad as a hatter’ was common around this time. It is thought to owe its origin to the fact that hatters actually did go mad, because the mercury they used sometimes gave them mercury poisoning!
