Fuggler x SpongeBob
If you caught my last post, you’re already familiar with Fuggler toys — those adorably weird plush creatures with unsettling smiles and quirky personalities. But guess what? They’ve just teamed up with none other than the legendary SpongeBob SquarePants for a collaboration that brings an unexpected twist to the world of Bikini Bottom.
The Fuggler x SpongeBob collection is out now, and let me tell you — it’s creepy-cute in all the right ways. If you thought the idea of Fuggler’s signature derpy, toothy grins couldn’t get any more charming, you clearly haven’t seen SpongeBob and friends reimagined in plush form.
So, let’s take a look at the characters that make up this wild crossover.
The Collection: Fuggler Meets Bikini Bottom
The collaboration features five characters from SpongeBob SquarePants — SpongeBob, Patrick, Plankton, Squidward, and Gary. But these aren’t your typical cartoon characters. Oh no. Fuggler has taken its signature aesthetic and given it a creepy-cute makeover, resulting in plush toys that are both nostalgic and delightfully unsettling.
Here’s the breakdown:
1. SpongeBob
SpongeBob is still, well, square, but with a sinister twist. His signature yellow color and square shape are there, but Fuggler has taken it up a notch with a creepy wide smile, tiny almond-shaped eyes, and no nose. This SpongeBob’s fluffiness gives him that soft, cuddly vibe, but that smile? It’s definitely the stuff of nightmares. Still rocking his classic white shirt, red tie, and brown pants, this version of SpongeBob is both familiar and unsettling, just the way we like our Fugglers.
2. Patrick
Patrick looks a little different, too — in fact, he’s practically unrecognizable. Instead of his usual star shape, Patrick’s now got long, furry arms, giving him a more gangly, plushie-like appearance. His fur is a salmon-pink fabric, and he still has his trademark green shorts. But just like SpongeBob, Patrick sports those derpy almond eyes and the same mischievous expression that makes him feel like he’s got a few secrets to hide.
3. Plankton
Plankton may be small, but his Fuggler version is packing some serious personality. This little guy mostly keeps his shape and his classic green look, but the Fuggler magic has made him even more playful. He’s made from standard plush fabric with those same derpy eyes as the others, which gives him an endearing, slightly offbeat vibe. He’s still got that “evil genius” aura, but now it’s wrapped up in a soft, squishy form that’s impossible not to love.
4. Squidward
Squidward’s Fuggler counterpart stays pretty true to his character, shape-wise. The figure’s got the same elongated head and tentacles, but with that signature Fuggler grin and the same derpy eyes that make him both hilarious and weirdly adorable. His classic brown shirt and grumpy personality are still intact, but seeing him with a big goofy smile is something else. Who knew Squidward could look so cute?
5. Gary the Snail
And then there’s Gary, the silent, slow-moving genius of the group. Gary’s Fuggler version doesn’t change much in terms of shape (he’s still that snail-like creature we all know), but his plush fabric body and oversized, derpy eyes make him feel more like a weird, lovable pet than ever. As the only quiet member of the group, Gary’s soft, sleepy expression is probably the most charming of them all.
